Are you ready to make a difference?

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Digital Media/Marketing Specialist to join our team. Our Digital Media Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing effective digital media/marketing strategies for our client, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA), to increase awareness of the organization's services.

The significance of the work:

As a member of the ODRG team, you will play an essential role in enhancing the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) in providing strategic outreach and engagement planning services to the DSCA’s Front Office, Director’s Action Group, Strategic Outreach (FO/DAG/STO) program(s) by promoting communication strategies that facilitate understanding of the Security Cooperation mission and, in so doing, advance U.S. national security and foreign policy objectives. 

The Work Location: On-site 100% of the time for a collaborative office culture in Arlington, VA.

What You’ll Do:

You will be the voice of the brand on all social media platforms, and it is your responsibility to know the best ways to apply DSCA's brand strategy and personality to the content relevant to the broader U.S. Security Cooperation enterprise and international affairs community. The goal of this position is to manage the online presence of DSCA as well as to drive online traffic to DSCA's website and social media platforms. This will require you to design and implement digital campaigns, analyze data to optimize performance, identify new online opportunities, and develop new ways to maximize your marketing efforts online. 

What we are looking for:

In an ideal candidate, the person would be creative, possess excellent analytical skills, and be passionate about leveraging digital channels to reach and engage the audience that DSCA targets to achieve DSCA's goals. 

Responsibilities Include, but not limited to:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive digital media/marketing strategies to achieve business objectives.
  • Create engaging and informative content for websites, blog posts, online press releases, podcasts, social media, and email marketing campaigns. 
  • Manage end-to-end digital projects; help coordinate audio/visual campaigns for DSCA.
  • Help establish and manage DSCA’s web presence and design to boost awareness of the agency’s activities to the public and the broader security cooperation enterprise.
  • Maintain a consistent and appropriate presence through select social media outlets.
  • Aggregate and disseminate news stories to relevant to the broader U.S. Security Cooperation enterprise and international affairs community.
  • Monitor the performance of DSCA’s digital media activities to ensure they align with the goals of the agency.
  • Obtain authorization by a government member in STO or the agency’s Front Office prior to publication of any content.
  • Monitor and analyze website and digital media/marketing performance using tools such as Google Analytics and social media analytics.
  • Work with multiple teams across the organization to co-develop original and campaign-related content (graphic, video, and copy) that helps move DSCA's mission forward following overall strategy.
  • Produce comprehensive monthly performance reports for deployed social media campaigns.

Requirements

  •  Bachelor’s degree in digital media, marketing, and/or communications or a related discipline.
  •  Two (2) years or more of documented experience working as a digital media and communications specialist at a news media, university, USG agency, public relations firm, or advertisement/marketing agency. 
  • Demonstrated relationship-builder who is able to partner cross-functionally and work effectively with various levels of the organization.
  • Proven work experience in providing creative, impactful, results-driven digital media, and communications solutions, graphics and video display, and web design.
  • Proven knowledge with the application of visual communication principles; the development and application of quantitative benchmarks and statistical analytical tools; and the development and execution of social media platform campaigns usage. 
  •  Proven work experience in writing for public audiences, preferably for digital mediums.
  •  Proficiency in Microsoft Suite applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint and PowerPoint) and a strong working knowledge of concepts and tools used in Adobe Creative Suite or a similar suite of graphic design tools. 

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • This position requires you to have an active Secret Clearance. A government background investigation will be conducted on selected applicants to determine whether they qualify for access to classified information.

Compensation:

The pay range for this job is determined by various factors, including but not necessarily limited to location, responsibilities of the job, and alignment with market data. When determining a salary for this role, the following factors may be taken into consideration: contract-specific affordability, education, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience. The estimate displayed represents the salary range for this position and is just one component of ODRG's total compensation package for employees. It is not necessarily reflective of actual compensation that may be earned, nor a promise of any specific pay for any specific employee. The pay band for this position is $100 - 130k.
